Are you looking for some ways to get more involved in what’s going on with CRU or just wanting to take part in visioning and brainstorming for the future?  All are welcome to come this Wednesday, February 4th at 9:15 to JH 276 so that we can celebrate what God has been doing on campus this year and seek His will for what’s to come!  Bring your planners and be praying for a God-sized vision!

Butler CRU

Wednesday, January 14th, 2009

The Well is back this Friday night!  Join us as we open God’s Word to talk about New Year’s resolutions and God’s resolution for us.  This will be a great talk for a new year.  Invite your friends to come and join us in the basement of Common Ground.  Connversvine will be leading worship on Friday, so come, spend some time worshipping, opening God’s Word and connecting with other Butler students.  It’s going to be a cold night, so we’ll have plenty of warm drinks.  We hope to see you there.

CLT is back as well.  Next Wednesday Christian Leadership Training will kick off with a split Men’s/Women’s Time.  The women will be meeting from 8-9:30 at the CRU House, next to BUPD, and the guys will be meeting at a location to be determined.  Plan to join us as we talk about being Men and Women of purity and how to understand God’s plan for us as we seek after Him.  There will be more details about these times on Friday night.  We look forward to seeing you at CLT next Wednesday night.

Hey Ladies,

Don’t forget we are having a Christmas party *from 7:30-9:00* (which is a correction to the evite sent out) Tuesday Dec 9 at the Cru house. So you don’t wander in the cold, the address is 519 W Hampton Dr beside BUPD.

Come relax as we decorate and of course eat cookies, enjoy some games, and celebrate Christmas.  I hope to see you there!

CLT Tonight

Wednesday, December 3rd, 2008

First, I know the last CLT was like drinking from a firehose.  So I’ve put the notes from it (and all the previous CLT’s) up on my blog, here

Audio should be up shortly.

Also, our second to last CLT is this week!  Ever feel like the character in Romans 7 – I do what I don’t want, and I don’t do what I want?  The Christian life is about following Jesus – about obedience to him.  How do we do it?

This week: The Holy Spirit in our lives.

And this week we’re sticking in one passage.  So bring your Bible and notebook and come worship and learn from God’s word with us!  It’s tonight (Wednesday), 9:15, JH141, as always.

Butler Announcements

Wednesday, December 3rd, 2008

Coffee anybody?  If you’re a huge fan or just want to be more involved in The Well, think about becoming part of the Coffee Crew–it involves coming at 7 pm to every Well (the next one is Dec. 12th) to help set up the coffee table, brew coffee, and replenish it throughout the night.  Pays well with lots of delicious coffee :)   Email Kristen at kmsteele@butler.edu if you’re interested!

Only 3 weeks until Christmas Break!  I know they are jam packed and will go fast, but how about spreading some Christmas cheer by going Christmas Carolling at a nearby nursing home?  If this is something you’d like to help organize/plan, email Kristen (kmsteele)

CLT Tonight

Wednesday, November 19th, 2008

What’s the Gospel?

Not only does our answer to that question affect how we tell others about our Lord, it should affect every moment of our day to day lives:

our prayers, our relationships, our wrestling with sins, how we handle confrontation, our decision-making process, our view of sex, how we handle the mundane things of life, our hopes and dreams…

Everything should and must be seen through the lenses Jesus created in the Gospel.

Come see how: Wednesday, 11/19, 9:15pm, JH 141.

Soweto Gospel Choir Tickets Available

Tuesday, November 11th, 2008

REACH is sponsoring 20 student tickets to the Soweto Gospel Choir! They are performing at Clowes Memorial Hall this Friday November 14th at 7 p.m. (doors open at 6:30). If you are interested, sign up in the PuLSE office and pick up your tickets anytime before Friday at 5 p.m.
“After a sell-out world concert tour and topping the US Billboard World Music Chart, Soweto Gospel Choir returns to the US. Earthy rhythms, rich harmonies and charismatic performances combine to uplift the soul and celebrate the unique spirit of South Africa in a performance The New York Times calls ‘meticulous and unstoppable – spirited and spectacular.’”

November 15th at Butler

Tuesday, November 11th, 2008

We’re in need of a little help. If you are free November 15th from 10-1, Butler is holding another “block party” for prospective Butler students. We really want Campus Crusade to be represented, but in order for that to happen, we need people to man the tables. It would probably only be a 1 hour shift, and all you would have to do is answer questions about Crusade and hand out cool stuff to high school seniors and their parents. We need at least 6 people to help out, so if you are interested, please email lbeeson@butler.edu with what day/time you are available!

CLT This Week: Discipleship

Tuesday, November 11th, 2008

What does it mean to truly follow Jesus?

What does it mean to disciple others?

What does it mean to BE a disciple?

At CLT this week (Wednesday, 9:15p, JH 141), we’ll be taking a look at what God has said about discipleship – about how we’re saved into discipleship and for discipleship and are called to rescue others into it as well.

So whether you’re new to this ‘Christian’ thing or are looking for help in terms of discipling others, God’s got something to say from his word!

I’m looking forward to seeing you there and worshiping with you!
