Pray Indiana

Tuesday, August 11th, 2009

Indiana Cru believes that the ministry of Campus Crusade for Christ will simply not happen at universities all over Indiana this Fall without a work of God.  Because of this we will be praying continuously for three days from Friday August 21 at 8 am until Monday August 24 at 8 am.  Please join with us as we ask God to continue to build His Kingdom here and continue to use it to impact the world.

If you want to pray with us, click the link below.  For every half hour time slot that you can join us in prayer please put in your name and city/school you live near.

Sign me up!

If you’re like me, you probably need a little more direction than that to spend a half hour or more in prayer.  So here’s some things:

  • Students would have soft hearts this year, be teachable and respond to the Gospel
  • For favor with the administrations and open doors on campuses across the state
  • People of peace to be found on every campus statewide
  • Knowledge for local churches, volunteers and staff about how to engage students
  • The resources needed to put the Gospel within arm’s reach of every student in the state of Indiana
  • Radical, Saul to Paul conversions across Indiana

But those are still general ideas.  If you’re a student or excited about students knowing Jesus, click on the title above and leave a comment to let everyone know the specific needs and requests that you are trusting God for in your part of the state.

Mission Year

Tuesday, October 28th, 2008

Looking for an opportunity to serve Christ in a powerful way for a year? Try Mission Year!  It is a radical opportunity for Christian young people to live out the simplest and most important commandment of Jesus: “Love the Lord your God, and love your neighbor as yourself.” By living and working for a year in a low-income, urban neighborhood, partnering with a local church, volunteering at a social service agency, and spending time with neighbors, our Mission Year team members effectively impact their communities while catching a deeper vision for what the Kingdom of God is like.  Experience living out justice, peace, reconciliation and “Beloved Community” with our marginalized brothers and sisters.  From September to August Mission Year teams serve in Atlanta, Chicago, New Orleans, Philadelphia, Camden, and Wilmington.  Live what matters!  To check out this amazing opportunity, visit www.missionyear.org for more information and an online application.  Or call Ashley Pharis, a Mission Year alum and current staff member (who was also a Butler Bulldog!) at 574-215-4783.

Opportunity for this weekend

Thursday, September 11th, 2008

This is a list of job and volunteer opportunities available for students.

Urgent Opportunity for Men

Hey GUYS!!

I have an URGENT opportunity for you to volunteer to be apart of a High School Retreat THIS weekend from Friday evening (5:30) to Sunday afternoon (noon). The retreat is hosted by North United Methodist church’s new youth minister. With all of the changes they’ve experienced in the past few years, she is hoping this retreat will be an opportunity for the high school students to redevelop the bonds they created with each other over the years. The theme of the retreat is “Fresh Start” and the kids will be learning about how we can have fresh starts with the help of Jesus Christ.

They are in need of one more male volunteer to go on the trip to be a chaperon. They had someone else going but he recently became unavailable. Thus the URGENCY…

There will be a lot of down time so you can bring your homework if you think that would be an issue. (I will be!) Oh, by the way I have an internship at this church and I will also be going so you will at least know someone! :0)

The trip is down in Brown County IN at Camp Mone’to and all of your meals, lodging, and transportation will all be paid for. There will be tons of fun stuff going on such as hiking, games, exploring, adventures, and of course JESUS! We just need another male to go and be a great influence to high school boys who are in need of an older male to invest in them for a weekend. I can give you more information if you are available and interested so just give me a call or shoot me an email!
Thanks for considering helping us out!
