What’s the Gospel?

Not only does our answer to that question affect how we tell others about our Lord, it should affect every moment of our day to day lives:

our prayers, our relationships, our wrestling with sins, how we handle confrontation, our decision-making process, our view of sex, how we handle the mundane things of life, our hopes and dreams…

Everything should and must be seen through the lenses Jesus created in the Gospel.

Come see how: Wednesday, 11/19, 9:15pm, JH 141.

November 15th at Butler

Tuesday, November 11th, 2008

We’re in need of a little help. If you are free November 15th from 10-1, Butler is holding another “block party” for prospective Butler students. We really want Campus Crusade to be represented, but in order for that to happen, we need people to man the tables. It would probably only be a 1 hour shift, and all you would have to do is answer questions about Crusade and hand out cool stuff to high school seniors and their parents. We need at least 6 people to help out, so if you are interested, please email lbeeson@butler.edu with what day/time you are available!

CLT This Week: Discipleship

Tuesday, November 11th, 2008

What does it mean to truly follow Jesus?

What does it mean to disciple others?

What does it mean to BE a disciple?

At CLT this week (Wednesday, 9:15p, JH 141), we’ll be taking a look at what God has said about discipleship – about how we’re saved into discipleship and for discipleship and are called to rescue others into it as well.

So whether you’re new to this ‘Christian’ thing or are looking for help in terms of discipling others, God’s got something to say from his word!

I’m looking forward to seeing you there and worshiping with you!

CLT Tonight

Wednesday, November 5th, 2008

I know you want to tell people about Jesus.  I know this because you’re a Christian.

It can be hard, though, can’t it?  We want to – but sometimes don’t know how.

We want to address the ‘how.’

CLT this week – November 5th, JH 141.  Come for fellowship, worship, and training in evangelism led by Brian Landis, head of the Butler Business Accelerator program.

And a second for some truth here: my heart is that we are trained well.  But good training – and knowing God in general – is through the Scriptures.  Christian leadership means being able to interpret, apply and communicate Scripture.  Period.

So bring your Bible.  I know a lot of churches, etc. put Scriptures up in powerpoint.  But if you really want to know God’s word, you need to crack it open and read it in context while it’s being taught.

Grace to you from Jesus, our God and Savior.
